王薔在職業生涯早期主要代表天津市網球隊參加全運會，並且曾代表中國參加亞運會網球比賽。她於2014年在仁川亞運會上奪得女子單打金牌。
在大滿貫賽事中，王薔的最佳表現是在2019年美國公開賽中打進八強。由於她在2014年底的出色表現，成功跻身世界前100名，最高排名達到第12位。

Wang Qiang, from Tianjin, is a Chinese professional tennis player who turned pro in 2006. Her career-high WTA singles ranking is No. 12 (September 9, 2019), and she has won 2 WTA Tour titles.
In the early stages of her professional career, Wang primarily represented the Tianjin Tennis Team in the National Games and competed for China in Asian Games tennis events. She won the women's singles gold medal at the 2014 Incheon Asian Games.
Her best Grand Slam result was reaching the quarterfinals at the 2019 US Open. Thanks to her strong performances at the end of 2014, she broke into the top 100, eventually peaking at No. 12.
In July 2019, following standout results at the Australian Open and Wimbledon, her ranking rose to No. 14. That September, after advancing to the US Open quarterfinals, she achieved a new career-high of No. 12.
